KEEPER OF THE PAST is an AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE Masters Thesis
Film. It’s a psychological thriller about Stanley, a
photographic manipulator who is hired by a Mayor’s campaign
team to aid in his re-election. Stanley once killed for love, and
now his past has come back to confront him and show him how far a
person will go in the name of love, and hate. KEEPER OF THE PAST
was written by AFI Directing Fellow Alonso F. Mayo, adapted from
a short story by novelist Edmundo Paz-Soldan.

Bill Anderson. Trapped in the cursed town, the unfortunate

MOVIES IN THE PARK - PETALUMA
We are pleased to announce that Movies in the Park will be
returning for a second season this summer. The program is
provided by Movies in the Park and the Petaluma Parks &
Recreation Department. The films are family-friendly and are
shown outdoors on a giant screen with stereo sound. Local, live
entertainment and food concessionaires are available prior to the
movie. All movie events are on Saturdays and are scheduled as

RESISTING PARADISE, a provocative experimental documentary that
leads viewers on a participatory journey of discovery through
very timely questions: What are our responsibilities during
political crises? How does art exist during a time of war? The
filmmaker's personal voice ruminates on these themes through the
frame of the historical and actual landscape of the town of
Cassis, France. We uncover the actions of WWII French Resistance
fighters Marie-Ange Allibert Rodriguez and Lisa Fittko; Hammer,
as an artist struggling with the proximity of the war in Kosovo;
the correspondence between Matisse, painting in Cassis, and his
friend Bonnard; and the spectre of German Jewish philosopher
Walter Benjamin. This range of subjects and materials forms an
archaeology of human will that interweaves the questions and
responsibilities of artistic production during political

perceptible sources in a homemade animated theatre place."
So writes Basque composer, improvisor and instrument builder Alex
Mendizabal, who will visit tonight for a rare presentation of his
mysterious and moving BLIND FILMS, spatialized cinematic
experiences of pure sound, performed live in pure and total
darkness, over, under, around and through the traditionally
seated audience. "A set of sound motion and low synthesis

From the co-creator of Discovery Channel's #1-rated series comes
a new approach to reality television. If you're a director,
producer or editor, this applies to you.
With "Final Cut", literally anyone in the world can
tell a story. If your story's good enough, it will be seen by an
audience of millions. "Final Cut" is a contest
television show that gives Final Cut Pro users national
television exposure. To be considered for broadcast, each piece
must have a running time of 3-5 minutes.
Each submission must be shot on a 3-chip DV camera and cut
exclusively using Final Cut Pro software. The stories must meet
certain standards as set forth in guidelines provided by the
Producers to contestants. The genre is documentary/reality.
Stories will be selected for broadcast by the Producers and a
panel of distinguished industry judges based on standards of
entertainment, production value, and overall merit.
Winners will advance to a national, televised $100,000 Grande
Finale and will compete in a Phase II, "International Final
Cut".
